Advice for Poster Presenters
A new feature of the 9th ESSE Conference will be the poster session (Monday August 25th, 2 pm), during which approximately 25 posters will be presented, covering a wide range of topics in linguistics, literature and cultural studies.
A poster is a short, concise, highly accessible description of new, unpublished research mounted on a wall or poster stand for public viewing. Posters often include not only text (approx. 2,000 words) but also graphs, photographs and charts (see example pictures below).
The aim of a poster session is to provide conference participants, and poster presenters in particular, with additional opportunities for discussion and feedback about research in an informal setting. Therefore, presenters are strongly encouraged to be present during the poster session and to have handouts available for distribution. Posters at ESSE-9 will be mounted on individual, two-sided poster stands (see example below). Each poster should be no bigger than 120 cm in width and in height.
